Irish-based startup Bitcart has released a new product called Festy, a QR code wristband that allows consumers to make contactless payments using blockchain technology and the DASH digital currency.
Festy is directly linked with each consumer’s DASH account and reduced transaction costs for merchants. Integrated with InstantSend technology, merchants can now accept and store payments using the DASH currency.
“Our partnership with Dash makes the perfect payment solution for everyday transactions,” states Bitcart CEO Graham de Barra. “Unlike existing traditional bank payments that take a 2-5% fee, there is no cost on receiving Dash for merchants. Merchants accepting payments will never have a chargeback, and there are potentially enormous savings to be made compared to the crippling fees from existing payment solutions.”
The company also says that Festy is compatible with every point-of-sale system accepting Visa contactless and any mobile phone or computer with NFC tags and offline payments using QR codes.
The wristband also includes the ability to add tickets for an event and eliminate fraud.
